
Stefan Peterson
Research Associate
We are thrilled to have Stefan help us monitor and protect water quality in the watershed! Stefan holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biology. He has participated in a wide variety of aquatic research including fisheries, invasive species, aquatic toxicology, and limnology while working for state and federal agencies in Iowa, Illinois, Georgia and Colorado. He currently works for the CU-Boulder Environmental Engineering department teaching students and researchers how to operate analytical chemistry instruments. Stefan grew up in Iowa and has always loved researching aquatic environments and identifying organisms in nature. Since moving to Colorado in 2017, Stefan has had the opportunity to collect and analyze water quality data throughout the state. Outside of work, Stefan enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking, skiing, and shooting photography with friends and family.
