Yana Sorokin holds a Master’s degree in Ecosystem Ecology and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. Prior to joining the Watershed Center, she worked on research projects to study the impacts of climate change on plant communities from Alaska to Costa Rica. Most recently she worked at an environmental consulting firm. Yana grew up exploring the lakes, rivers, and forests of Minnesota, but always wanted to live near the mountains. Yana joined the Watershed Center in 2016. As a Longmont resident, she is thrilled to be working with her community to protect and restore our watersheds. When not working, Yana enjoys traveling, hiking, and canoeing with her husband and daughter.
